Pine River Mid-Michigan Trout Fishing Conditions
Brown Trout
The Pine River in Midland and Isabella counties is a central Michigan stream with brown trout in its cold upper sections — distinct from the famous Pine River in Wexford County. Accessible from Midland and Mount Pleasant.
This Pine River — not to be confused with the Pine River in Wexford County — flows through Midland and Isabella counties before joining the Tittabawassee River system. Cold tributaries in the upper watershed maintain trout habitat through early summer. Brown trout fishing is best in May. The river provides a local option for Midland-area anglers without the drive to northern Michigan.
